Brian Kelley pays tribute to the perfect summertime romance with the highly-anticipated anthem he released at the dawn of a new era of his music on Friday (May 26).

“See You Next Summer” comes after weeks of Kelley teasing the song with mysterious hints and revealing snippets of it on his social media channels, stirring anticipation among fans who dropped eager comments about the song on TikTok and Instagram. Kelley confirmed the song’s release date earlier this month. “See You Next Summer” was penned by David Garcia, Michael Hardy and Hillary Lindsey.

“When I first heard it, I was smiling the whole way through,” Kelley said in a press release on Friday. “I've lived this song. It was striking chords all over my body, I felt it in my soul.”

“Girl I’ve never gone to Jacksonville, Georgia/ But after holdin’ you all night I wanna/ ‘Cause this ain’t a margarita, can I get our number/ Meet me by the water text, hookin’ up/ See you next summer/ See you next summer”

The summertime anthem follows recent releases from Kelley, a Florida native who recorded “Florida Strong” to benefit the American Red Cross and Florida Disaster Fund to help with hurricane relief. He also released “American Spirit,” honoring “Poppy” John Edward Kelley for his service in the U.S. Army during WWII, and a relatable tribute to all veterans and service men and women and first responders.
