Keith Urban took the stage at Bridgestone Arena over the weekend in Nashville, Tennessee, and the “Wild Hearts” star couldn’t stop in Music City without spotlighting other talented artists.

Urban explained to the audience that he “wanted to find somebody who was playing in a cover band” on Nashville’s Lower Broadway for an onstage duet. Broadway is packed with crowded honky tonks, featuring live music in every multi-level venue, on every floor. Urban selected Kayley Green, who performs in a band at The Stage, and introduced her to the arena during the concert on Saturday night (October 7). Urban said Green is “putting in her hours, night after night, week after week. I thought she had an amazing voice, and I just wanna bring her out to sing for you.”

“There was a running theme for our show in Nashville: BROADWAY TO THE BIG TIME,” Urban explained in his caption as he shared a clip on social media. “Our special guests for the evening highlighted that journey, representing those playing on Lower Broadway right now, night after night, to those headlining Nissan Stadium.

“This girl has been putting in the hours with her band at The Stage every Friday night. Once you hear [Kayley Green] sing you won’t forget her !!!!”

The Bridgestone Arena audience erupted with cheese as Green joined Urban on stage to perform a cover of “Independence Day” by Martina McBride, and to join Urban on “We Were Us,” his 2013 duet featuring Miranda Lambert. Green gushed that the performance was “by far the coolest experience of my life” as she relived it on Instagram. Watch Urban’s reel here:
