Adele Splits With Husband Simon Konecki After More Than 7 Years Together

59th GRAMMY Awards - Show

Adele and her husband Simon Konecki have separated.

The Grammy-winning recording artist and the entrepreneur have split after more than seven years together, PEOPLE learned Friday night (April 19) via a statement from Adele's representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh.

“Adele and her partner have separated,” the reps told the publication. “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”

The "Chasing Pavements" artist and the 44-year-old philanthropist maintained their low-key romance until Adele addressed her relationship publicly for the first time in a blog post in January 2012. Months later, the 30-year-old musician announced she and Konecki were expecting their first child. The couple later welcomed a son, Angelo, on October 19, 2012.

The English songbird, who continued her private relationship with Konecki years afterward, revealed she and the Life Water co-founder were married when she addressed him as her "husband" while receiving Album of the Year at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. During her acceptance speech, she said: "Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son — you’re the only reason I do it."
