Vampire Weekend Covers Paul Simon's 'Late In The Evening' In London: Watch

Vampire Weekend is gearing up to head out on tour this summer, and before they do the band played some warm up shows in London. On Saturday (March 23), they played a morning show at Islington Assembly Hall and while dusting off the hits, the indie rockers also debuted a cover of Paul Simon's "Late In The Evening" (which is fitting considering the band is frequently compared to the singer-songwriter). As Spin points out, Vampire Weekend also treated fans to covers of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m Goin’ Down” and, for the first time in ten years, Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere.” They also played their seminal hit "A Punk" three times throughout the set, which has become kind of a thing for the band after their Lollapalooza set last year.

Vampire Weekend is gearing up to release its fourth album, Father of the Bride, on May 3. They've already released four songs off the record — "Sunflower," "Big Blue," "Harmony Hall" and "2021" — and are expect to drop two more before the album comes out. FOTB is the follow up to Modern Vampires of the City and will be the band's first album in six years.
